Christmas Cow

The stamp I used on this card has been stashed for about two years, so it's about time I started using it. I've been playing around with my sticker markers a little more – I do think it's about time I treated myself to some more versatile markers – and found some silver/multi-coloured glitter glue that I used on the grey coloured patches. The glitter does not really show well in the photograph, though.
When I was nearly done, I decided I needed a black ribbon to finish it off. Since I didn't have any black ribbon, I went down to the bookshop in the village, which also carries a very limited stock of craft/card making stuff and an equally limited selection of ribbons. Of course they did not have any black ribbon, so I settled on some lovely pink and purple ones, because I need to make a card for a sweet girl who's turning 4 and who loves pink, lol. I browsed through the new craft products they had when my eye fell on some bookmarks. Two of them had white and blak ribbons attached to them! So I was able to finish the card after all.

For this card I used this week's sketch at Mojo Monday.

Materials used:
Papers – Marianne Design
Cuttlebug embossing folder
Distress ink
Tag punch
Sentiment stamp – not sure which brand
Button from my stash – I cleaned out my sewing box last week and found a lot of buttons, lol
Ribbon taken from a brand new bookmark

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Mojo Monday – Sketch
ABC Christmas Challenge – O is for Older Image
Christmas Stampin' All Year Long – Favourite colour (actually,
I also happen to love blues and purples, but looking at the
clothes I'm wearing today I can honestly say that
red & black is a favourite combination of mine)
Totally Gorjuss – Punch or die
Bling it on – Anything goes
Allsorts Challenge – Free and easy July

Christmas wreath

Sometimes, you think you have an idea for a card, but it just does not come out right. And sometimes the end result surpasses what you had in your head. That's exactly what happened with this card.
The general idea for the wreath with the ribbon roses came from a book by Erica Fortgens, 101 Ideas for Embroidery on Paper, but instead of the embroidered leaves in between the roses, I used a Marianne Design holly stamp. I also cut out a circle to creat a see-through to the sentiment inside, which comes from a collection of free clipart called Arthur's Clipart Collection. After printing it, I cut it out using a nestability. The red ribbon is from my stash.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Jingle Belles – Oh HOLE-y Night!
Bah! Humbug! – Beads
CCAYR – Mainly white + bling
Winter Wonderland – Holly and/or ivy
Less is More – Button(s) or Ribbon(s)

Summer card

Although I love making Christmas cards, I cannot deny it's high summer over here. The cicadas have all emerged, making their loud chirping noises. They really seem to like it when temperatures are over 30 °C.

So I think it's a good idea to be showing some flower cards.

The papers, die cut and sentiment are Marianne Design, the image is Penny Black and the flowers, brad and flower ribbon are from my stash. The image was coloured with Derwent Coloursoft pencils.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Sir Stampelot – Anything goes
Totally Ladybug Tuesday – Summer Birthdays
Fussy and Fancy – Summer
Crafty Catz – No pink or blue
Allsorts – Free & easy July
Penny Black at Allsorts – Summer Birthdays

Snow business

Phew. I made it in the nick of time. This one's for the Thursday mini-challenge at Bugaboo Catch the Bug.
The theme for this day was Snow Business.

Since I didn't have much time I used a snowman from a decoupage sheet. I'm not too happy with the sentiment at the top, which is a peel-off text that I coloured with a sticker marker. I'll probably replace it with a small label and a piece of string. But for now, this will have to do.
For the Christmas tree I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder and some ColorCore cardstock.

Christmas cat

Another card for the Bugaboo Catch the Bug Christmas in July challenge.
Monday's challenge was about creating a Christmas card with non-tradional colours.
The patterned paper is from a Christmas paper pad I've had for ages and really did not know what to do with. The theme of the paper pad was "Silver" but the most dominant colour is a kind of old rose.
I do think the colour works well in combination with the dark aubergine-coloured cardstock I've used.
The stamps are Marianne Design, and so is the poinsettia die cut. I coloured the stamp with my Derwent Coloursoft pencils.

This card is also for Paper Sundays Challenge #78 – Christmas in July and Crafty Pad Challenge # 130 – Christmas in July.

Ruby Christmas Tree

This card is for the Bugaboo Catch the Bug Christmas in July challenge.
The Tuesday challenge is all about creating a card with a freebie stamp called Ruby Christmas Tree.
I thought I'd try something completely different from all the other participants, so my card is not featuring one but three Rubies, lol. The patterned paper is from a huge package of papers I bought a few years ago. No idea what brand it is.

Since I don't own any fancy ...markers, I thought I'd simply use what I did have, so I coloured the digi with the sticker colouring pens I have. I used Derwent coloursoft pencils for the skin and a gold gel pen for the gold accents. Maybe I'll create another one using mainly Derwent pencils, but I wanted more striking colours to start with. The sentiment is computer-generated.

Less is more

I finally found the time to photograph and upload the card I created this week: mostly white and no frills, but by no means plain. Hope you all like it.

Here's a close-up showing the embossing more clearly.

I hand-embossed the angel and then applied some gold Versamark ink. I used the same ink to stamp the sentiment (StudioLight) and matted the piece of cardstock on some gold glitter paper.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
CCAYR – Mainly white + bling
ABC Christmas challenge – No nonsense (no frills, no PP)
Winter Wonderland – Give it a little lift (embossing)
I had actually intended to enter this card into the previous challenge at WW but couldn't make it in time. It's wonderful to be given a second chance, lol.
